40 Years of Jazz: The Future of Jazz – and Artistic Freedom - Is at Risk - Tarrytown, NY
Previous Grants for the Arts Are Gone, Your Support Is Now More Vital Than Ever
When we started the Jazz Forum, it was your passion and generosity that made it happen. Our Charter Donors laid the foundation alongside government and corporate grants. But now, the environment is uncertain.
Public funding for the arts is at risk of rapidly disappearing and businesses are under tightening restrictions on their commitment.
Grants that enabled us to come back after the pandemic and bring life back to our stage, like the SVOG (Shuttered Venues Operators Grant) and the PPP (Paycheck Protection Program), are gone.
In the current predicament, local program support from New York State, Westchester County and even municipal contributions to fund your beloved JFA Outdoor Free Summer Concerts are under increasing pressure.
This goes beyond one venue or one organization. This is about what is essential to jazz: the right to express, create, improvise and reflect our culture without restrictions. That freedom is in jeopardy when funding comes with more strings attached or disappears altogether.
Without robust support, the next generation of jazz educators and musicians may never get their moment in the spotlight. While that support is so uncertain, we’re turning to the people who have always believed in us.
Support the future of jazz. Support artistic freedom.
Because this music – and the freedom it represents – deserves to be heard.
Your support has always been the heart and soul of Jazz Forum Arts. As we embark on this celebratory year, we invite you to join us in making it our most important anniversary yet.
Your generous donations will enable us to continue presenting exceptional performances, expanding our educational outreach, and ensuring that the local live jazz community thrives for generations to come.
Stay tuned for more details on this most important 40th Anniversary of Jazz Forum Arts and how you can get involved. We look forward to celebrating this special milestone with you!
