Join us for the 40th Annual Van Lear Town Celebration!!

Schedule of Events:

Thursday July 31, 2025

Rook Tournament (inside the Coal Miners' Museum) 6:00 pm, $20.00 per team, 1st place winners win half of the pot.

Friday August 1, 2025

- Icky's-Shirts, Hats, etc!
- Soup Bean Dinners at the Coal Miners' Museum 10:00 am - 2:00 pm 12 and Under $5.00, Adult-$7.00
- Coal Miners' Museum Open to Public 10:00 am - 2:00 pm (children must be accompanied by an adult at all times)
- Official Opening Ceremonies at the Coal Miners' Museum (Awards Presented and Grand Marshal) 2:00.
- 14th Annual Van Lear Idol, (at music stage) 4:30 pm sign up, $15.00 entry fee (call for info)
- 1st Corn Hole Tournament" Blind Draw" 5:30-6:00 sign up near food booths. $7.00 per person, double elimination, medals awarded.
- Lawn Bowling $2.00 each time, all evening long, medals awarded (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) and presented Saturday evening to the winners with the highest 2 day total.
- Ghost Tours$5.00 for 30 minutes, starting at dark. Sign-up at food booth.
- Live music and dancing, seating is not provided, please bring a lawn chair. Concessions will be sold. 6:00 pm. (free)

Saturday August 2, 2025

- Icky's-Shirts, Hats, etc!
- Turkey Shoot: 9:30 am $5.00 (paper targets and ammo provided) (Van Lear Camp and Ride (follow signs)
- Classic Car Show: (Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church parking lot) 9:00 am - 12:00 noon, $20 Entry fee
- Breakfast served at the Van Lear Freewill Baptist Church Annex. $8.00
- Coal Miners' Museum Open to Public 10:00 am 1:30 pm (children must be accompanied by an adult at all times)
- Kid's Games and Hula Hoop Contest (near stage area) 10:30 am (free)
- Annual Van Lear Parade 3:30 pm Grand Marshal Fred Wetzel
- 2nd Tournament Regular Corn Hole, Double Elimination - sign up 5:30 pm $7.00 each, trophies awarded! (near food booths)
- Lawn Bowling (see Friday August 4th for details)
- Skillet Throwing Contest 7:00 pm $5.00 each (near music stage)
- Hay Bale Toss Contest 7:00 pm $5.00 each (near music stage)
- Ghost Tours $5.00 for 30 minutes, starting at dark, sign up at Food Booth.
- Live music (free) and dancing. Seating is not provided, please bring a lawn chair. Concessions will be sold. 5:00 pm
