Mission Statement

Dare Family Services’ primary mission is to find, train and support loving homes that will help children become resilient and overcome the trauma of serious abuse and neglect. Every child will be given a life, education, and a road to normal adulthood. We will also counsel and support biological families who are struggling to raise and keep their children.

Our mission for adults with development disabilities is to ensure that our programs respect their human rights, provide a safe and healthy home and make sure that every person in our care is treated with dignity.

Welcome to Dare Family Services in the Central Region of Massachusetts.

Worcester, Massachusetts is home to the Dare Family Services Central Region office. We have been a member of the community for more than thirty years, providing home-based Intensive and Enhanced Therapeutic Foster Care, as well as Family Support and Stabilization services to children and families with histories of neglect, severe trauma and abuse. The children and families we serve are referred to us by the Department of Children and Families (DCF). We also have a small Shared Living program with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS).

We have highly trained specialized foster parents in and around the city. Our foster parents open their homes to provide a stable, healthy, family environment that allows each child to begin or to continue their healing process. Receiving weekly support from the Dare staff, our foster parents enable these children to make strong, positive transitions—back to their biological homes, to their adoptive home, or on to independent living.
