In May of 2012, Green Holly became a certified Maryland Green School through the Maryland Association of Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE). This two year certification process included recycling programs, planting projects in the newly renovated on-site greenhouse, environmentally themed lessons and field trips, and community involvement. While certification was a significant accomplishment, our work is not done. Green Holly will now enter a four year recertification process. During recertification, we hope to build on our existing programs, and also find new ways to create awareness and encourage our school community to become stewards of the environment.
