The Riding School at Mare’s Run Farm in Tazewell, VA offers more than just riding lessons.  We offer a complete horsemanship training experience for all ages.  Students learn the responsibility of grooming and tacking up a horse.  Students also learn basic horsemanship and care of horses.  Our riding instructor has horsemanship and riding instruction certifications from The British Horse Society in England, an Education Degree, and has veterinary experience.    We specialize in providing balance seat instruction, which will help you with your riding whether you choose to ride English or Western.  We also offer specialized instruction in dressage and jumping, with horses suitable for beginner through experienced riders.  Our emphasis is first and foremost on safety, but in a fun atmosphere.  We have students who enjoy recreational riding, and also students who show competitively.
